Crypto security is about how digital assets get stolen and how to make that harder: exchange breaches, drained wallets, phishing for seed phrases and bugs in smart contracts. Blockchain transactions can't be reversed, so one mistake or one leaked key usually means the money is gone for good.

Crypto Hacks & Security: where to start

Most large thefts don't break the cryptography. They go around it, through a compromised developer laptop, stolen signing keys, a malicious browser extension or a trusted tool that was quietly modified. That's why these incidents are worth reading even if you never touch crypto: the same supply-chain and access-control failures show up in ordinary software teams.

If you hold crypto yourself, the basics still do most of the work. Keep significant amounts in a hardware wallet, never type a seed phrase into a website, confirm the receiving address on the device itself, and treat unexpected messages from 'support' as an attack until proven otherwise.

Articles here break down real incidents: what happened, how the attackers got in, what is still unknown, and what users and builders should change afterwards.
